- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆this is a tiny office in San Marcos, TX. My personal experience was alright and what you expect. I waited for 2 hours to get help. What I am writing is about what I saw. There is limited amount of space in the waiting room. The space is fine for those who can find a seat and those who wouldn't mind sitting on the floor. What I have an issue with the handicap section. There is none. There was an elderly man who was in a wheel chair and had the assistance of his wife. The room was so crowded that he had to stay close to a red line was put on the floor by the office. The office lady in the front asked him to move away from the line, like if he could get up and walk away from it. He is in a wheel chair. So they decided to let him stay and moved the wife. Now he was completely incapable of moving. He became upset and asked why the office was not handicap accessible. The security guard told him that office didn't have to. I felt so horrible for him and saw everyone being rude and make smirk comments at him because he wasn't able to move to a tighter space. I feel like it is irresponsible to not assist those in handicap situations. The office should get out of the office and see how crowded it can get. I only wish that there a little more sympathy and humbleness from the office of Social Security Staff for those that are physical disabled. I wish that I could have recorded this for proof, but there is a sign that does not allow any recording. I guess we just have to wait for more incidents.By E Walden, January 04, 2017
